Nando's Open Today in Chinatown

Nando's, a South African "Peri-Peri" chicken chain with restaurants all over the world, opened its first shop right here in DC today on 7th St NW in Chinatown.

Word is that a second restaurant will go just south of Dupont Circle on Connecticut Ave. NW.

I've never been to a Nando's, but from what I gather, it's primarily spicy chicken.

So has anyone here ever been to one? Thoughts? Comments? Let me know!

i love nandos... i used to eat it when i lived in the middle east and they're fantastic. it's nice to get chicken that has real flavor without having to add more to it.

OMG, you do not know what you are missing! The first, ok second, thing I did when I landed in Johannesburg was search for the nearest Nando's. I know what I am doing this weekend --Nando's.

Nandos is pretty good (if you can't get to Oportos in Sydney). Portuguese style peri-peri chicken. At the South African and English ones (but not Australian) they serve spicy chicken livers with bread rolls which are delicious. But it's terribly overpriced for a chicken chain.
