Hello Cupcake! Goodbye Diet!
Off the forums of donrockwell.com, it looks like DC will get another cupcake restaurant this summer, and hopefully this one won't disappoint.
Hello Cupcake! will make, "gourmet cupcakes fresh and from scratch, all-day, everyday in our shop on Connecticut Avenue. Using highest quality, fresh, seasonal and local ingredients."
Hello Cupcake! will feature around twenty flavors, which will include, "24 Carrot", "triple coconut", and "peanut butter blossom".
Located in Dupont right on Connecticut Ave. NW, you can't get a better location, though it will be interesting to see if it competes directly with Krispy Kreme.
So, do you think that Hello Cupcake! can change DC's cupcake fortunes? Or do you think DC residents will still have to take the trip up to NYC for a worth while cupcake?

Eek! Another contender in the cupcake controversy!! Please keep me posted and I will add it to the cupcake controversy coverage on my blog too. Thanks for the heads up.
All gourmet cupcakes all the time?! Am I in heaven?
It's good that DC is finally getting with it and is adding a second cupcake place. DC always seems to be a couple steps behind other cities and takes a while to get on the beat. I've never been to Georgetown cupcake since there usually is a line around the block. Someone smart must have taken notice and is taking advantage of the supply and demand. I'm looking forward to another shop, and closer to me, but it's hard to beat a NYC cupcake. They have it down pat. I'm willing to give Hello a try. Kind of pricey though at $3/cupcake as advertised on its page, but if its good, it will be worth it!
They sound like a rip off of Georgetown Cupcake, I mean apparently the owners of it come from a Greek mother too...
Well according to Delleicious DC at http://delleicious.blogspot.com/, there is going to be yet another cupcake place opening in the area. This one on Main Street in Annapolis called Nostalgia Cupcakes. It appears they are slated to open in the fall, but they don't have a full website up yet.
